Camilla presented a talk entitled “A study of decision-making and power in African-European research collaborations for sustainability: who decides, and how?” in the panel Transforming collaboration – transformative collaboration, organised by Nina Kruglikova (University of Manchester) and Louise Elstow (Cambridge University).
Presenting her second PhD paper, based on empirical research of African-European research collaborations in the forest governance field, Camilla presented her conceptual framework and preliminary analytical findings based on ethnographic vignettes and interview transcripts of her field work. The discussion following the talk, about definitions of power and implications of using the term, inspired further conceptual evolution of the paper.

The panel brought together a diverse range of topics, all focussed on collaborative science, and inspired a lively discussion from a range of perspectives.
